Apek: How old will you be on your next birthday?

Adi: Twenty-four.

Apek: How old were you on your last birthday?

Adi: Twenty-two.

Apek: How can you be twenty-four on your next birthday?

Adi: Why not! I'm twenty-three today.

On Solehah's mama birthday this year, I remembered these phrases:

Propensity to Change

As for me:

1. In my heart, Solehah's mum is still & will remain the same as the first day I met her - i.e. 24 years ago.

2. The 10th. September this year (birthday) happened to be also on the 20th. Ramadan (wedding anniversary).

3. She also celebrates her 'birth day' twice in September.

4. Akak Solehah (Maya) also celebrate her birthday in September.

5. Moga-moga Allah memberi yang terbaik untuk beliau & terima kasih untuk segala-galanya.

~ The mum & The 2nd. son - Kuala Perlis: 31/07/09 ~

Solehah's second brother (Zakwan) also sent a sms to her mama (at 6.35pm : 09/09/09). His message was:

Salam mama - cam na kesihatan ok tak?

Hari jadi ka esok.

Abang doa supaya mama dipanjangkan umur dan sentiasa dimurahkan rezeki.

Abang rindu mamala tapi apa nak buat dok jauh.

Pas tu abang nak minta maaf kat mama sebab mungkin waktu abang balik

'Mesia' hari tu abang wat salah ngan mama.

Mama jaga makan tau.

Catatan:

1. Later they skype. Zakwan too asked her mama about the present.

2. After that, her mum asked questions about his daily life - class, study, puasa, masak, makan, & so on ...

~ The Mum & The Eldest Son ~

Solehah's eldest brother (Adi) sent a sms to her mama (at 5.20pm : 09/09/09). His message was:

Happy birthday mama ...

Semoga diberkati Allah.

"Orang paling awal ucap" - mana nak cari anak tiap-tiap masa ingat kat mama.

Catatan:

1. According to mama, he was second to wish her. The first was Solehah.

2. Adi called later to wish her mama personally & asked what she wanted as a present. Joking, the mum told him not from the Jalan Masjid India ...

3. His konvo will be on the 5th. of October.

~ Mum & Solehah ~

Solehah designed her own birthday card for her mum & asked her dad to do it for her. She wrote:

Selamat Hari Lahir yang Ke-48 untuk Mama yang disayangi.

Kalau ada salah harap maafkan.

Lepas Hari Raya saya akan menghadapi peperiksaan.

Saya akan mendapatkan keputusan yang baik.

Itulah hadiah saya untuk mama.

Saya akan menunaikan janji saya untuk mama.

Catatan:

Solehah said so as she did badly (in term of the position in class) in her pre final year exam. She dropped from from number 14 to 22. Her mum was not happy at all.

Tahfifah: On "Mama Birthday"

~ Solehah's Mama ~

On the way home from work, a man stopped at a florist to buy some flowers for her mother’s birthday. He wanted the flowers to be delivered to her 160km away.
As he walked out, he saw a girl. She was crying. He approached & asked her why. The girl told him that she didn’t have enough money to buy flowers for her mum. Sympathized, he told the girl that he will be happy to pay for the flowers.
After paying, he asked the girl whether he could follow her to see her mum. The girl nodded.
He followed the girl & was surprised as the girl took him to a cemetery. The girl put the flowers on her mother’s grave & thanked him for the flowers.
The man rushed back to the florist & cancelled his order. He took the flowers & drove all the way to give the flowers personally to her mother.

1. Oleh kerana berpuasa, maka tiada sebarang sambutan - ditangguhkan.

2. Sememangnya patut dirai kerana beliaulah yang banyak berusaha untuk kejayaan & kesejahteraan keluarga.

Personal: On "September & Ramadan"

~ Penang, Jun 2009 ~

Alhamdulillah, it is September again. So as Ramadan. What a beauty, both came together this year. As for Solehah’s family, the month of September/Ramadan is a celebration month because:
1. 10th. September – Solehah’s Mum birthday
2. 18th. September – Solehah’s eldest brother birthday
3. 28th. September – Solehah’s 2nd. brother birthday
4. Earlier of the month (4th. September) – Solehah’s akak Maya birthday – a ‘new’ family member – got her through this blog.
5. 20th. Ramadan – Solehah’s Mum got married to her dad – that was 25 years ago.

Catatan:
Lebih membahagiakan sambutan Aidil Fitri juga jatuh pada bulan September. Namun, pastinya kurang meriah kerana abang kedua Solehah (pembantu pembuat kuih raya) tidak dapat bersama.
